Sam Bowden is a Research Associate for Russia Studies at the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR). Before joining CFR, he was a James C. Gaither Junior Fellow in the Russia & Eurasia Program at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace. He holds degrees in English and Russian literature from Kenyon College.
